TONIGHT'S ESCONDIDO CONCERT CANCELED!

ESCONDIDO ---- Friday night's Julio Iglesias concert in Escondido has been canceled because the singer is ill, according to a Friday afternoon announcement from the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.Iglesias, one of the most popular singers in the world, had been scheduled to perform beginning at 8 p.m. in the center's Concert Hall.Efforts were under way to reschedule the concert, center officials said.Approximately 900 of the 1,500 seats in the Concert Hall had been sold for the event, said spokeswoman Erika Ulring. Walk-up ticket sales were expected to make the event a sell out, she said.Iglesias had also been scheduled to perform at the center in November, but that performance was delayed until this spring by the October wildfires.For details, visit www.artcenter.org.
